Emman Foronda (@emmanforonda) and Jet Velas (@jetvelas) each won a
Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and a Gear VR for submitting the best entry for the
Professional and the Open Category respectively. Their winning photos are to be
featured on Culture Explorer, a mobile application
that uses augmented reality technology to help people, especially the youth,
learn about historical landmarks in the Philippines.
All
runner-ups of the two categories each got to take home a Samsung Galaxy A5
2016.
The
awarding took place at the Yuchengco Museum, during the opening of the exhibition
Eduardo Castrillo @ 50: Moving the Legacy
Forward, which pays homage to the nationalist sculptor’s contributions to
the art industry. The display may be viewed until 24 November 2016.
Android
users can download the Culture Explorer application from Google Play Store for
free, to view 360° images of monuments,
churches and plazas located across the country, and gain a deeper insight on
the Philippines’ rich heritage.
