RCBC Encourages Consumers To Take Active Actions Towards Account Security

The account safety and security of every banking consumer will always be the priority of any financial institution. Nowadays, many banks are improving their systems and taking active measures to prevent threats of loss, breach, or fraud to their clients’ bank account.

One of the largest commercial banks in the country, RCBC has long been recognized to be a trusted banking partner of many Filipinos. As it continues to put its customers first, it takes action to educate everyone about how they can help safeguard their accounts.

As a Bank customer, here are some simple practices you can follow to keep the integrity of your account:

Inform your bank about changes in your personal information
Just like how you should change your bank PIN to avoid fraudulent activities, personal details such as contact numbers, email addresses, and home addresses must also be updated as it helps the bank in making sure that information is securely delivered only to you.

Be aware of who you are speaking to
Do not disclose any sensitive information to just anyone. Nowadays, scammers are going as far as posing like a regular employee from your certified bank. They might ask you to give card details in exchange of interesting promos and prizes. Know that RCBC will never ask for your password, PIN or security code on the phone or online.

Regularly review transaction history
Know your finances and always keep yourself up-to-date about the current balance of your account. RCBC offers hassle-free online viewing of your statement of account, or eStatements, when you visit www.rcbconlinebanking.com and enroll your account. You may still opt to have a printed copy delivered to your mail address or picked up at your branch of account subject to corresponding monthly fees.

Keep records of your banking activities

All your transactions are recorded in your monthly Statement of Account. Make sure you regularly review this to ensure that transactions reflected there are actually your own. For transactions done over the bank counter, it helps to secure a machine validated slip of your exchange with the bank before leaving the branch premises.

If you have a passbook, do not forget to bring it with you and have it updated to help manage your finances. You must also take the transaction receipts every time you go to the ATM to keep track of your daily cash withdrawals. For online transactions, make it a habit to check the confirmation emails that you will receive.

Along with these useful tips, RCBC wants to assure its banking clients that they are using advanced security technology and are putting quality systems and processes in place to help defend accounts from online and offline threats by issuing a One-Time-Password (OTP) sent to the client’s mobile number for online transactions.

The bank continues to empower Filipinos with innovative financial products and services that safeguard the trust that consumers have placed upon them.

Celebrity mom Kristine Hermosa and son Vin for KOOLFEVER

“Vin can’t sleep when he has a fever. It’s hard to see him restless and uncomfortable, that’s why I’m grateful for KOOLFEVER. It’s easy to use and it helps bring down his temperature so he can feel better in no time,” Kristine says. “I’ve always trusted KOOLFEVER to help relieve my kids of their fever. It is a must have for me in my first aid kit.”

There’s a KOOLFEVER for everyone. The best-selling fever relief pads from Japan come
in different variants, suitable for different ages.

Each KOOLFEVER pad has a soft, bouncy gel made of 80% moisture that absorbs and disperses heat from the body. It’s formulated to sustain the cooling effect for up to four hours, and its texture ensures it stays in place even if your baby moves around while he sleeps. It is an effective alternative to a sponge bath, which helps provide relief from fever discomfort. Moreover, the gel has no coloring or fragrance, so it’s guaranteed to be gentle on your baby’s sensitive skin.

Made by Kobayashi Pharmaceutical in Japan, KOOLFEVER comes in four (4) variants: KOOLFEVER Baby, for infants up to 2 years old; KOOLFEVER Child, for those between two and 12 years old; KOOLFEVER Adult, and KOOLFEVER EXTRACOOL for adults. All variants are available in leading supermarkets and Mercury Drugstore outlets nationwide.

Basta Fever, KOOLFEVER.

Durex Launches Campaign To Curb Rising HIV Cases In The Country

Globally, the incidence of new transmissions of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has slowed down. In the Philippines, however, official data from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) show that there has been a 174 percent increase in HIV cases since 2010.

“There is an urgent and pressing need to curb the infection. While the rest of the world has decreasing rates, we are going the opposite way. This is something that is very alarming,” said Karol Canlas, Brand Manager of Durex Philippines.

With its rising HIV numbers, the Philippines is of special interest to Durex. The world’s leading condom brand launched its Always Come Prepared campaign that amplifies the message of protecting one’s self from the threat of HIV and other sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs).

The campaign, which uses a quirky visual of a toy soldier using a condom as a parachute, wants to bring the conversation of the HIV threat into a more understandable level and easy to digest way for the general public, particularly the young adults.

The numbers tell a grim picture of the situation in the country—an estimated 12,000 new cases reported in 2017, with an estimated 61,000 to 76,000 Filipinos living with HIV.

“Contrary to the global rate of new HIV cases, which has been decreasing by 18 percent, the Philippines sings a different tune. There is a need to ring the alarm bells, to bring the conversation of HIV to more Filipinos in a more understandable way,” said Dr. Louie Ocampo, Country Director of UNAIDS in the Philippines.

The Always Come Prepared campaign will also banner the trio of Boys Night Out – Sam YG, Toni Tony, and Slick Rick as campaign advocates, HIV-testing advocacy group Love Yourself, and UNAIDS.

Despite the alarming numbers, condom use is still relatively low in the Philippines. Condoms are still the only known effective method of preventing the transmission of HIV and other STDs aside from abstaining.
