As part of the partnership, Acer Academy donated five **Acer TravelMate laptops to SDEAS. The devices enable students to access online learning platforms, complete academic and digital coursework, participate in blended classes, and build digital skills that support future employability.
For moms and families who believe that access to learning tools can change a child’s future, this initiative highlights how technology—when paired with the right school support—can open doors for learners with disabilities. It also reinforces the idea that inclusive education benefits not just students, but entire communities.
“Education is one of our priority segments. We always believe in the power of education. In the Philippines, we have a program called Acer Academy. As of now, we already have more than 400 members nationwide. More than providing devices, we are committed to keeping the partnership with Benilde in terms of immersion programs and partnering with students with disabilities,” said Sue Ong-Lim, Managing Director of Acer Philippines.
According to Marian Patricia BEA Francisco, Dean of SDEAS, DLS-CSB, “Through this partnership, we are opening pathways not only for students but also for the Benildean community. It will strengthen digital capacity, promote skill development, and support inclusion.”
Angelo Marco Lacson, Vice-Chancellor for Academics of DLS-CSB, shared that the school actively looks for partners to support students who need it most. “Many think that Benilde is a school for those who have, but it’s not true. Many are struggling to make ends meet. We take initiatives for advancement and look for partners like Acer who can help us provide more education to the underprivileged and to persons with disabilities or those with special learning needs,” he said.
Acer Academy in the Philippines is Acer’s education program designed to help schools, colleges, and universities integrate technology into teaching and learning. The program supports digital classrooms through hardware, software, training, and long-term collaboration to improve digital literacy and encourage innovation in education.
