Nickelodeon Celebrates National Day With The Debut Of A
Made-In-Singapore Animated Comedy Series Sharkdog Today
Nickelodeon Asia celebrates Singapore’s National Day with the debut of the brand new series
Sharkdog, Nickelodeon’s first animated short-form series from Asia, out of Singapore. Premiering on the
Nickelodeon Play app
today,
Sharkdog is a 20 x 90-second animated series, with each episode that will be released progressively through the platform this month.
The Singaporean first-time creator is Ms Jacinth Tan, a Singaporean
storyboard artist with the multi-award-winning CG animation studio, One
Animation. The series is produced in collaboration with One
Animation, who worked closely with both the Nickelodeon International and Asia teams.
Sharkdog
is the first animated series from Asia to come out of the 2015 edition
of the annual Nickelodeon’s Global Animated Shorts Programme, designed
to identify
and develop original comedy-driven content for kids. Besides Sharkdog,
a further 21 pitches were chosen out of 850 pitches and developed into
animated shorts, with the potential to air on the network, or live on
the Nickelodeon Play App.
